Even though 16 and Recovering was filmed prior to 2020, all the design was done during the coronavirus lockdown. We weren’t able to have a photoshoot the way we normally would for a new show, so instead I scrubbed through all the show footage to find scenes that could make for compelling key art.
Since this is a docu-series about addiction, we wanted to highlight the serious side to the show, but still have a bit of hope shine through. I edited the photos to have some warm light leaks come through, even though the scene this shot was sourced from was emotional.

We also created a companion guide to facilitate screenings for the show so that schools and after school programs could do screenings and facilitate conversations about addiction.
The guide included resources for parents and teachers to help kids who are struggling, and talking points for students to discuss their own experiences with substance abuse.
